Filip Stanic (born January 14, 1998 ) is a German basketball player . He has been under contract with Bundesliga promoted Niners Chemnitz since summer 2020 .

career

Stanic received his basic basketball training in the youth department of Alba Berlin . He played for the club in the youth basketball league , in the junior basketball league  and in the second men's team in the regional league.

In the run-up to the 2017/18 season, Stanic moved to the Thuringian Bundesliga promoted Oettinger Rockets , with whom he missed relegation. This year he was used in 32 Bundesliga games and scored an average of four points. In the summer of 2018 Stanic signed a multi-year contract with the Serbian club KK Mega Leks . In April 2019, he signed up for the NBA's draft process , but had his name removed from the list in June of the same year. At the end of February 2020 he switched to the Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg on loan . In summer 2020 he was signed by the Bundesliga promoted Niners Chemnitz .

At the beginning of June 2018 he was appointed to the German U20 national team. At the U20 European Championship in Chemnitz in July 2018, he won bronze with the German team and was then chosen among the five best players of the tournament. With an average of 13.6 points per match, Stanic was together with Kostja Mushidi the best German scorer. In addition, he was the German player with the highest effectiveness value during the European Championship.
