The Filson nunatak is a small nunatak in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . In the eastern part of the Framnes Mountains it rises 10 km east of the Trost Peak .
As part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions , aerial photographs were taken in 1958, and in December 1962 the mountain was explored by a team from this research series. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it after Rex B. Filson, a carpenter at Mawson Station in 1962 and a member of the team that visited the mountain and explored lichen in the Framnes Mountains.
