Fimbulwinter was a Norwegian black metal - tape , which was about 1992 to 1994. It was named after the Fimbulwinter of Norse mythology .
history
The band was formed during the "second wave" of Norwegian Black Metal and recorded a demo at the end of 1992 that contained five original compositions and a Celtic Frost cover. The musical style showed influences from Celtic Frost , Bathory and Darkthrone . A little later, guitarist Stian "Shagrath" Thoresen Dimmu Borgir and bassist Hugh "Skoll" Mingay became a member of Ulver . The activities of Fimbulwinter came to a standstill. Due to continued demand for the demo, it was released in 1994 with an additional track as Servants of Sorcery via Hot Records. The end of Fimbulwinter was announced in the booklet.
