Shagrath (civil: Stian Tomt Thoresen ) is a Norwegian musician. He became known as the singer of the dark metal band Dimmu Borgir, founded in 1993, and as the guitarist of the Chrome Division . With Dimmu Borgir he also played drums , e-bass and keyboard irregularly . Before founding Dimmu Borgir, he played in the black metal band Fimbulwinter , which was disbanded in 1994. He was also a brief member of Ulver in 1994 .

Life

In 2009 he founded the Ov Hell project with ex- Gorgoroth bassist King Ov Hell. Part of the debut music, which featured Teloch ( 1349 ), Arve "Ice Dale" Isdal ( Enslaved , I ) and Frost ( Satyricon ), King originally wrote for Gorgoroth and God Seed with Gaahl's voice in mind. Her debut album The Underworld Regime was released in 2010. Similar to Shagrath's main band Dimmu Borgir, Ov Hell is accused of being an all-star commercial project. Shagrath replied that he “lived this music and its content”, while the self-proclaimed “moral guardians ” would “babble” “about their Disney version of Black Metal”. He shares with King "a satanic perspective in our music that many other groups have lost".

Personal

In the fall of 2008 he was briefly engaged to Nicolas Cage's former girlfriend , Christina Fulton. The wedding was only postponed until 2009, and no marriage is mentioned in later press releases.
