Arve Isdal
Arve Isdal (born August 28, 1977 in Bergen ), also known by his pseudonym Ice Dale , is a Norwegian guitarist . He is a member of the bands Enslaved and Audrey Horne , among others . In addition to other bands, he also works as a music producer .
Career
Isdal originally wanted to be a drummer and started playing on a homemade kit. Through his father, who was a guitarist himself, he got into the guitar and played songs by Kiss and Guns N 'Roses by ear . His musical influences include hard rock bands from the 1970s such as Kiss , Deep Purple , Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath . It wasn't until the mid-1990s that he came to extreme metal . Isdal made his first musical experience with the black metal band Malignant Eternal , on whose last album Alarm he played. After the band broke up, he became a member of Enslaved in 2002, with whom he won the Spellemann Prize four times in the Metal category .
At the same time he started the hard rock band Audrey Horne with some friends just for fun. The band's debut album No Hay Banda was awarded the Spellemann Prize. Isdal played the bass on Audrey Hornes second album Le Fol . With Audrey Horne, Isdal takes on the role of main songwriter. In 2006 Isdal produced the debut album Between Two Worlds for Project I founded by the Immortal singer " Abbath " . Here Isdal can also be heard as a guitarist. Today Isdal focuses on the bands Audrey Horne and Enslaved. He also played on albums by the bands Bourbon Flame , Ov Hell and Trinacria .
At the Metal Hammer Awards 2016, Isdal was nominated in the God of Riffs category. However, the award went to Phil Campbell of the band Motörhead .
