Waiting for the Night is the first live album by the Norwegian hard rock band Audrey Horne . It was released on February 28, 2020 via Napalm Records .
Emergence
According to guitarist Arve Isdal , the band had long planned to record and release a live album. Multiple attempts to implement it failed due to technical problems, either in terms of audio or video . In addition, the band would be "incredibly slow". On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the release of the debut album No Hay Banda , a new attempt was made, and everything worked out. Two concerts were recorded by Audrey Horne in her hometown of Bergen . On the one hand, the performance at the Bergenfest on June 12th, 2018 and the concert at USG Verftet on November 10th, 2018. The musicians only found out after the performance that the performance at the Bergenfest was recorded.
One title each has been used from the albums No Hay Banda and Le Fol . The albums Audrey Horne , Youngblood and Pure Heavy provide two titles each , while the current studio album Blackout has six titles. The album is available on CD + Blu-ray and LP + BluRay, with the LP version available on black and purple vinyl. In addition, Napalm Records released an Earbook limited to 333 copies . In addition to the CD and the BluRay, this contains an exclusive 7 "single with the songs Rose Alley and Dead .

Reviews
Sebastian Kessler from the German magazine Metal Hammer wrote that Waiting for the Night reminds us that “the hard rockers around singer Torkjell“ Toschie ”Rød and guitarist Arve“ Ice Dale ”Isdal are a fantastic live band”. The 16 songs on the CD “make a lot of fun”, but the recordings on the bonus BluRay would be “often amateurish”. Kessler awarded five out of seven points. Frank Schäfer from the German magazine Rock Hard wrote that the live album will be released "quite late in view of its undisputed stage qualities". The band "plays their stuff with verve , but the good shovel of live dirt that you want can always be heard". Schäfer waived a grade.
