Hugh Mingay
Hugh Steven (or Stephen ) James "Skoll" Mingay is a Norwegian bass player and composer . He is best known for his work with Ulver and Arcturus .
Life and work
He played with Shagrath from around 1992, first in the black metal band Fimbulwinter , which released the album Servants of Sorcery in 1994 and broke up shortly afterwards. Mingay then became a member of Ulver, which he left in 1998 after Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell . He was also the bass player for Ved Buens Ende in the mid-1990s and joined Arcturus around 1995 to record Aspera hiems symfonia . Mingay left the band before The Sham Mirrors , but was involved as a guest musician.
According to Carl-Michael Eide, Mingay has since given up making music and runs a motorcycle shop that specializes in the Italian brand Moto Guzzi . He eventually returned to Arcturus.
