Svidd Neger is Ulvers soundtrack for Erik Smith Meyer's film of the same name. It was released on Jester Records in 2003.
Creation and publication
After Ulver had already composed the soundtrack for the Swedish short film Lyckantropen , which was nominated for the Spellemann Prize, in 2002 , the Norwegian production company Filmfalken hired them for Svidd Neger . This soundtrack was recorded between September 2002 and April 2003 and mixed by Ingar Hunskaar in May 2003 at Strype Audio. In 2008, limited LP editions with different artwork were also released.

style
Ulvers soundtrack is orchestral and alternates between calm and bombastic passages. In addition to the strings, there are occasional winds, piano, guitars and electronic effects. In places there are echoes of ambient or jazz . Apart from two pieces with screams and a monologue, the album is instrumental. The atmosphere is gloomy and threatening.
