Lyckantropen Themes is Ulvers soundtrack for the short film Lyckantropen by Steve Ericsson. It appeared on Jester Records and The End Records in 2002.

Creation and publication

The soundtrack was recorded in Oslo and Stockholm in May 2002 and mixed by Ingar Hunskaar at Strype Audio in August that year. In 2011 a limited LP edition with different artwork was released.

style

Lyckantropen Themes ties in stylistically with the two Silence EPs. Ulver play a minimalist ambient with subtle soundscapes from keyboards and electronic effects as well as the occasional use of saxophone and percussion . The nameless pieces do not follow any recognizable structures and are purely instrumental. The atmosphere is gloomy.
