Robert Eberhardt

Robert Eberhardt (born June 12, 1987 in Schmalkalden ) is a German publisher , gallery owner and author .

Life

At the age of eleven, Eberhardt first researched the history of the region in the Schmalkalden city and district archive. In 2006 he trained as a Cicerone of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar , d. H. to art mediator for the houses of the foundation. Eberhardt studied art history and history in Heidelberg and Paris from 2007 to 2013 . He did a research stay in Cambridge and worked as a research assistant at the German Forum for Art History in Paris.

In 2008, at the age of 21, Robert Eberhardt founded Wolff-Verlag , based in Berlin, which focuses on art history, literary studies, history and philosophy. In December of the same year a volume of poetry by the rediscovered poet Andreas Wiß was published . In 2009, Eberhardt acquired a second-hand bookshop with 9,000 books. With Seume and Munchausen in 2010 appeared in the 200th year of death Johann Gottfried Seumes one of those interested in literature and wider readership perceived title.

In 2012 Wolff Verlag moved into an office in Berlin Unter den Linden , in which changing exhibitions of contemporary art can be seen. Issued were u. a. the draftsmen Carlo Paulus, Ulrich Moritz and Gloria von Thurn und Taxis .

In 2013, Robert Eberhardt founded the Junge Salon with Simon Strauss , in which a topic is discussed in closed sessions. Guests were u. a. Egon Flaig , Alexis Schwarzenbach , Hellmut Seemann , Thomas Sparr , Roger Vontobel , Rolf Hochhuth , Götz Kubitschek , Susann Neimann , Michael Krüger , Christoph Möllers , Hanns Zischler , Jan Wagner , Karl Schlögel , Jörg Baberowski , Niklas Maak , Lorenz Jäger , Nora Bossong . After the Junge Salon was closed , the association Arbeit an Europa eV , a group of young writers, scientists and intellectuals, was founded. Robert Eberhardt is the vice chairman of this association. Eberhardt is co-initiator of the European contemporary witness project European Archive of Voices , which u. a. is supported by the Gerda Henkel Foundation , the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation and the VW Foundation .

In 2016, Eberhardt ran the Wolff & Eber restaurant in the Bavarian Quarter in Berlin, where salon evenings were held regularly, alongside Wolff Verlag and the Robert Eberhardt gallery . Here u. a. Marie Luise Scherer , Manuela Reichart , Hanns Zischler , Christoph Meckel and Volker Weidermann . The kitchen offered “Brandenburg-Syrian” dishes prepared by refugees.

Maintenance of the Thuringian cultural heritage

In 2010 Robert Eberhardt founded the association “Gesellschaft Kulturerbe Thüringen” e. V. As chairman, he leads projects throughout Thuringia with other young members.

The association has been supporting the restoration of the Rußwurmschen manor house in Breitungen / Werra, built in 1545, since 2013 . It has numerous connections to Thuringian cultural history, in particular to the von Gleichen-Rußwurm , von Urff , von Steuben , von Uttenhoven families , to the poet Novalis , Schiller's daughter Emilie Gleichen-Rußwurm and Peter Philipp von Dernbach . The individual monument is animated with events. Among others, Daniela Danz , Bernhard Vogel (2015), Simon Strauss , Nora Bossong , Matthias Weichelt, Erika Tophoven , Martin Mosebach , Hellmut Seemann (2018) and Durs Grünbein (2019) performed.

Robert Eberhardt also founded "KulThür - Online Journal for Thuringian Cultural History", which provides a stage for publications on historical places, book reviews, biographies, Thuringian personalities and other specialist contributions.

In 2019 the association began to revitalize and renovate the late Gothic Todenwarthschen Kemenate in Schmalkalden .
