Baroness Emilie Friederike Henriette von Gleichen-Rußwurm , née Emilie von Schiller (* July 25, 1804 in Jena ; † November 25, 1872 at Greifenstein Castle , Bonnland ) was the youngest daughter of Friedrich (1759–1805) and Charlotte von Schiller ( 1766-1826).

Emilie was a half-orphan after just a few months and spent her childhood with her mother in Weimar . She lived in Berlin from 1827 to 1828 , for a time in the Wilhelm von Humboldt family . In 1828 she married the future Bavarian chamberlain Adalbert Freiherrn von Gleichen-Rußwurm (1803–1887) and lived with him at Greifenstein Castle ( Bonnland ) in Franconia . Emilie von Gleichen-Rußwurm was half blind in the last years of her life.

Her son Ludwig became known as an impressionist landscape painter and was the father of the writer Alexander von Gleichen-Rußwurm .

Works

Emilie von Gleichen-Rußwurm made a name for herself by publishing valuable and informative articles on the life story of her parents Friedrich and Charlotte Schiller.
