On January 31, 2016, Justs was announced as one of the twenty candidates for Supernova 2016 , the Latvian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . With the song Heartbeat , he reached the semi-finals with the most votes and thus qualified for the final, which he won on February 28, 2016.
The song was composed by Aminata Savagogo , who represented Latvia in Vienna in 2015 and achieved sixth place.
