Final Cut. Marburger Children's Film Festival is one since 2006 from Cineplex Marburg as well as specialized services Culture and Youth Development of the university town of Marburg hosted a yearly children's and youth film festival . It always takes place once a week in autumn every year. In 2010 the Cineplex Marburg received an award from Minister of State for Culture Bernd Neumann for the best children's and youth film program in 2009. The film festival was crucial for the award recognition. Since 2014, the Cineplex Marburg has also been one of eight locations in Germany that is supervised by a youth film jury from the German Film and Media Assessment (FBW) .

In the second year of the festival (2007), the organizers expanded the offer due to the positive response. In addition to the “Children's Film” category (6–13 years old), a “Youth Film” category (14–20 years old) was created.

In each of the two competitions, 5–6 outstanding international children's and youth films will be shown, which will be judged by a children's and a youth jury. The juries work independently and without the influence of adults. For the festival organizers, it is important that the choice of the respective award winners really represent the opinions of the children and young people. Only the media-educational moderation takes place via adults.

The competition entries will be presented to the public during the festival week (Monday to Sunday). School classes can also attend numerous morning performances. The award ceremony concludes on Sundays with a reading of the jury's explanations.
