The fishing church in Born a. Darß is a church building from 1935 . It is located in the village in the middle of a meadow.

history

The church was opened in the winter of 1934/35, during the tenure of Pastor Dr. Wilhelm Pless built. In April 1935 the thatched wooden church was consecrated. It was created based on a design by the Hamburg architects Bernhard Hopp and Rudolf Jäger .

The wooden church with the cladding on its walls has a thatched roof truss with a ridge turret . Small windows let light into the church.

Furnishing

The church has a barrel vault that is supported by wooden stands. These are fixed by iron anchors. The longitudinal bars are decorated with sayings from the Bible. In 1984 four small wooden figures were set into the altar wall. They come from Bernhard Hopp and were lost for a long time. The winged altar attached above the altar dates from 1935 and was donated in 1987 from the Hopps estate. The ship models are thanksgiving from Borner sailors.

The organ was made in 1991 by Andreas Arnold.

The Protestant parish of Prerow has been part of the Stralsund Propstei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany since 2012 . Before that she belonged to the Stralsund parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church .
