The Fisher River is a river in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river has its source on the southwest slopes of Forty Lakes Peak in the Central Plateau Conservation Area . From there it flows first to the north-northwest into Lake Mackenzie and then to the west into Lake Parangana and thus into the Mersey River .
