Fitz Benjamin Hall (born December 20, 1980 in London ) is a former English football player .
Club career
Fitz Hall first played for West Ham United in his youth , but had to leave the club again at the age of 15 along with Paul Konchesky , Bobby Zamora and Jlloyd Samuel . Then he went to the youth department of FC Barnet , but could not assert himself there either. His good performance at Chesham was passed on from his coach Bob Dowie to his brother Iain Dowie . He was the coach of Oldham Athletic at the time and brought the defender to his club in April 2002 for £ 30,000. After a good season, Hall was one of many players who had to leave the club due to massive financial problems. It was sold to first division club Southampton FC for £ 250,000 . At the Saints he could never prevail, but still completed the first Premier League games of his career. In the summer of 2004, former coach Iain Dowie brought him to Crystal Palace , who had just been promoted to the top division, for £ 1.5 million . After just one season, however, the direct relegation followed. Hall was still a great pillar for the club and was named team captain the following season. However, after some poor performance, he was removed from office in January 2006.
For the 2006/07 season, the defender then moved to the first division Wigan Athletic , where he was used sporadically in the following two years. In the winter transfer window of the 2007/08 season Hall went to the Queens Park Rangers , where Iain Dowie was initially his coach. In January 2010 he was loaned to league rivals Newcastle United until the end of the season. After the loan period expired, the defensive player returned to the Queens Park Rangers and was able to celebrate with his team winning the Football League Championship 2010/11 and the associated promotion to the Premier League . In the first season after being promoted again, the Queens Park Rangers reached 17th place in the table and only narrowly escaped relegation with just one point ahead of the Bolton Wanderers. Fitz Hall could no longer assert itself permanently against the competitors Clint Hill , Anton Ferdinand and Nedum Onuoha . For the 2012/13 season he therefore moved to the second division club Watford . In 2014 he ended his career.
