Chinedum "Nedum" Onuoha (born November 12, 1986 in Warri , Nigeria ) is an English football player from Nigeria . He has been under contract with Real Salt Lake since 2018 .

Club career

Onuoha came to Manchester City in 2003, where he first played one season in the youth team. He has been part of the first team since the 2004/05 season. On November 1, he made his Premier League debut against Norwich City . In total, he played 18 games for Manchester City in his first professional season. On March 16, 2008, he scored his first goal in the Premier League in a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur .

In July 2009 Onuoha signed a new contract with Manchester City for a period of 5 years. After Onuoha was loaned to Sunderland AFC for a year in August 2010 , he moved to the Queens Park Rangers in January 2012 and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract there until June 30, 2016. He became the 2015/16 season There he was even appointed captain, whereupon Onuoha extended his contract prematurely until June 30, 2018.

After the end of his contract with Queens Park Rangers, Onuoha moved to Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer in September 2018 .

National team

Onuoha has been part of the England U-21 national team since 2005. In 2007 he was part of the team at the U-21 European Championship in the Netherlands .

In March 2007 Onuoha received a request from the Nigerian Football Association, which wanted to win him for the Nigerian national team. However, Onuoha declined this offer.

In later years Onuoha changed his mind and considered appearing for Nigeria, but he did not receive a renewed invitation from the Nigerian national team.
