Robert Lester "Bobby" Zamora (born January 16, 1981 in Barking , London ) is an English football player , on the position of the striker . He has been with Brighton & Hove Albion since 2015 .

Career

A West Ham United fan from an early age, Bobby Zamora began his football career at Senrab FC at a young age before moving to West Ham's famous Academy of Football. In his year he also trained with players like Jlloyd Samuel , Fitz Hall and Paul Konchesky (who later also returned to the "Hammers").

He was then signed by the Bristol Rovers . The club loaned him to Bath City for a month and Brighton & Hove Albion for three months . The striker scored 14 goals in these twelve games. In the summer of 2000 Brighton finally signed him. In the following three years he played 119 games and scored 70 goals. Zamora became a crowd favorite and was called up for the English U-21 team.

In 2003 he moved to Tottenham Hotspur for an estimated fee of one million euros . However, he could not establish himself in the starting line-up and left the club after a year in the direction of West Ham United .

In his first season, Bobby Zamora met twice against Ipswich Town in the second half of the play-off semi-finals. He also scored as the only one in West Ham's win against Preston North End in the Championship PlayOff final at the Millennium Stadium , which West Ham qualified for promotion to the Premier League .

On the first day of the 2006/07 season, the attacker scored a brace against Charlton Athletic . He kissed the club badge at a goal and shouted: "This is my team, this is my fuckin 'team" . That makes the already very popular player at West Ham almost a legend.

Despite his high status, Zamora moved to Fulham in 2008 together with teammate John Paintsil . The transfer fee totaled around six million euros. However, he could no longer build on his performance at West Ham, only scoring two goals in his first season. In July 2009 Fulham had intensive transfer talks with Hull City because of this , but Zamora decided against the offer and stayed with the "Cottagers". In the following first Europa League game against Vėtra Vilnius , he was involved in all three goals of the 3-0 victory.

On January 31, 2012, Bobby Zamora moved to the Queens Park Rangers .
