(2007)

Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys is the debut EP by the band Arctic Monkeys .

The group had already attracted attention on the Internet by publishing demos on their homepage. The fans called for a CD release. However, the "Arctic Monkeys" were not under contract with any record company, but only signed a contract with Domino Records in June, after the EP was released .

The EP released on May 30, 2005 contains a new recording of the fans' favorite song, Fake Tales of San Francisco , as well as a new B-side song, "From the Ritz to the Rubble" . It was released in a limited edition on Bang Bang Recordings , a label founded by the band with the sole purpose of releasing this record. The name "Bang Bang" was seen as a replacement for the band name, as the actual name "Arctic Monkeys" sounded meaningless. The name of the single is ironic in a way, as it lasts six minutes.

A total of only 1000 CDs and 500 vinyl copies were pressed, which at the same time means that the EP is rare today and is often requested by fans of the band. Originals are now traded at high prices on websites like eBay . The average price for a 7 "vinyl press today is US $ 125 .

A re-recorded version of the two titles from the EP was also released on the album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in 2006.
