Suck It and See is the fourth studio album of British indie rock - band Arctic Monkeys . It was released on June 3, 2011 on the indie label Domino Records .

Creation and publication

Work on the new album began in early 2010 when front man Alex Turner started writing the songs. The recordings began in winter 2010 and lasted until the beginning of 2011. Sound City Studios in Los Angeles were chosen as the recording location. The chosen producer was James Ford , who had already worked as a producer on Favorite Worst Nightmare for the Arctic Monkeys .

The first video for the new album, Brick by Brick , was released on March 7, 2011, and the first details about the album were published three days later. A short time later, Matt Helders announced that Brick by Brick would not be the first single. On April 16, the first single, Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair , was released, but initially only as a limited edition with 1000 vinyl editions. The single was released in larger editions on May 30, 2011. The single reached number 28 in the British singles charts and stayed there for twelve weeks. On May 30, 2011, the album was released in advance on the SoundCloud online platform . The album itself was released on June 3, 2011 in Germany, on June 6, 2011 in Great Britain and a day later in the USA . In Great Britain, the album was able to enter the album charts at number 1.
