The Flag Point is a headland on the west coast of Wiencke Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located 800 m east-southeast of Damoy Point and marks the entrance to Port Lockroy to the north .
Participants of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered the headland. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey made the designation in 1944 after the Union Jack was hoisted here in the course of Operation Tabarin .
