Flag of Saskatchewan

The flag of Saskatchewan is divided green and gold, with the coat of arms of Saskatchewan in the jack and a Lilium philadelphicum , which extends over both color fields in the flight part. The upper green half represents the forested regions in the north of the province, the lower golden half the wheat fields of the prairie in the south. The flag has an aspect ratio of 2: 1.

The province would have had the right to unofficially use a Blue Ensign with the provincial coat of arms after it was established in 1905 , but it is not known whether such a flag was ever produced. In 1964, a competition was held to determine a provincial flag for the Canadian Confederation's centenary . The winning design was divided into red and green, with an ear of wheat in the leech and the provincial coat of arms in the upper flight section. However, this flag was hardly approved, which is why a new competition was announced. A commission selected the proposal from Anthony Drake from Hodgeville from the 4025 drafts received. The flag was introduced on September 22, 1969.
