The Flagpole Point ( English for flagpole point ) is a headland on Stonington Island off the Fallières coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 300 m northwest of Fishtrap Cove and forms the southern part of the western foothills of the island.
The headland was first mapped in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out new surveys between 1946 and 1947. He named it after the flagpole that the United States Antarctic Service had erected on a hill northeast of this headland.
