Flemming Hansen (born April 22, 1961 in Grenaa , Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player who played for the Danish national team. His son Mikkel also plays handball.

Career

Hansen learned to play handball at Hammelev IF. He then played at Grenaa IF. In the 1980s, the right-handed Helsingør IF joined, with whom he won the Danish championship. Hansen was the most successful goalscorer in the Håndboldligaen in the 1985/86 and 1986/87 seasons . At the beginning of 1989 Hansen moved to the Norwegian first division club Stavanger IF . With Stavanger he won the series championship in 1989 and 1990 and won the final of the play-offs in 1990. In 1991 he returned to Helsingør IF.

Hansen played his first international match for the Danish national team on June 18, 1984. The backcourt player traveled to Los Angeles as a reserve player for the 1984 Olympic Games , but he did not take part in any game. On March 29, 1992, Hansen played his last of a total of 120 international matches, in which he threw 240 goals.
