The district is located directly on the Zschopau and with a stop on the Zschopau Valley Railway, built in 1866 . The federal road 101 runs through Floßplatz .

history

The place emerged from a wood pile place for the tree trunks felled in the Heinzewald , in the valley of the Heidelbach and in the Brandwald. Its name raft place was transferred to the settlement that arose here in the second half of the 19th century, which was soon used as a popular summer retreat after the railway opened. The old raft house, in which a restaurant was operated at times, fell victim to the construction of the railway. At the same place today is the Warmbad stop , which in earlier years also bore the names Floßplatz, Floßplatz-Warmbad and Wolkenstein-Warmbad. In the years 1928–1932, the Talstrasse, which is now used as Bundesstrasse 101, was expanded.
