Flora Carabella

Flora Carabella (born February 26, 1926 in Rome , † April 20, 1999 there ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Carabella is the daughter of the film composer Ezio . From August 12, 1950 until his death in 1996, she was married to the actor Marcello Mastroianni , whom she met during rehearsals at Endstation Sehnsucht and with whom she has a daughter.

Carabella's acting career began at the Accademia nazionale d'arte drammatica , which she graduated from in 1948 and then made her first appearances under Luchino Visconti . She also played Arthur Miller and Carlo Goldoni under Visconti in the early 1950s , but largely gave up her career after the birth of her daughter Barbara. She made her film debut in 1963 in Lina Wertmüller's film drama The Basilisken in the role of Luciana Bonfanti. Only twelve years later she turned, directed by Roberto Rossellini with The Messiah their next film. Other films and TV series followed until she made her last film with Quando finiranno le zanzare in 1994 .

Carabella also appeared under the name "Flora Mastroianni".
