Beach whispers (original title: Casotto ) is an Italian comedy film by Sergio Citti from 1977. It is Citti's first full-length feature film. One of the roles is played by the young Jodie Foster .
action
In Lido di Ostia , a suburb of Rome, several characters spend a warm August Sunday in a spacious beach house: a women's volleyball team led by a combative coach, a lonely English priest who goes after women with two grumpy friends On the lookout, two sisters seducing a serious insurance man, two lovers eager to enjoy their first date, and an elderly couple with their young pregnant granddaughter Teresina trying to attribute paternity to their simple-knit cousin.
All these protagonists try to solve their problems or achieve their goal by trying to influence reality according to their own view of things. Away from everyday life there is time for studies as well as for imaginative actions and counter-actions, which, however, have no effect on the final constellation. At the end of the day, a sudden heavy rain forces everyone involved to hurry back to the big city.
criticism
The lexicon of international films described the film as an “seemingly antiquated Italian comedy”.
