Carlo Croccolo

Carlo Croccolo (born April 9, 1927 in Naples - † October 12, 2019 ) was an Italian actor and film director .

Life

Croccolo began his stage career with amateur ensembles and amateur theaters. In 1945 he was under contract with Radio Napoli and two years later he switched to radio in the Italian capital, where he also did dubbing. During appearances with Luciano Tajoli he developed the character of Pinozzo - a somewhat retarded and inexperienced naive - which he portrayed in a number of plays and also in a film. In his long film career, which began in the late 1940s, he starred in 118 films, mostly comedies. When the role offers became rarer from the mid-1960s, he intensified his career as a voice actor for numerous films; Among other things, he was the Italian voice of Oliver Hardy and Totò in his last films. He was also an important factor in children's programs on Italian television.

1971 Croccolo led under the pseudonym "Lucky Moore" directed two spaghetti westerns . In the middle of the following decade he resumed his work as an actor on stage and also in film. He has received several awards: 1989 a. a. with David di Donatello for best supporting role in 'O re .
