action
Tombstone is ruled by the Mexican brothers O'Hara and their minions. They rule with an iron fist, run the town and harass the bar maid Consuelo at every opportunity. A sheriff stays here for a day before the brothers chase him out of the office and town with mockery and knife wounds. An agent who is supposed to investigate the incidents does not even manage that amount of time. The local judge Wilson struggles to find a successor to this office when a mysterious black-clad stranger arrives in town. He claims to be a lawyer and settles in the hotel with his books. In conversations with the judge, the judge learns that Webb, as he calls himself, is interested in land stolen by the O'Haras. When the next sheriff has to believe it, Webb avenges him with the deaths of two of the brothers; he hid his pistol in the alleged books.
Another stranger arrives, Burt Collins. Apparently he wants to visit his brother, who lives with his Indian wife Sarah near the city. When Burt stayed there, the O'Haras raided the house, killed Peter and raped his wife. Burt himself is beaten up by them and believed dead. After his recovery, he rides Sarah to the O'Haras ranch to seek revenge. With the help of Webb, who turns out to be an agent, they manage to kill the O'Haras and restore rights to Tombstone.
criticism
“Deeply mediocre vengeance yarn that is abundantly brutal here and there. The music is good western music in the lower price range. That this is the better one (of the two Croccolo films) is almost entirely due to Klaus Kinski. "
"Mediocre staged spaghetti westerns, in which violence, sadism and revenge dominate."
- "Spaghetti Westerns with a little bit of mystery. (...) Above all the amateurish action collection stands steadfast Kinski." wrote L. Autera on May 16, 1972 in Corriere della Sera .
Others
- The film grossed 44 million lire in Italy.
- Both Dan May and Dante Maggio appear in the credits . However, it is the same actor.
synchronization
