Werner Uschkurat (born October 12, 1929 in Berlin ) is a German actor , screenwriter , voice actor and director .
Act
After finishing his school career and taking acting lessons with Marlise Ludwig , Uschkurat began his career in 1950, initially with smaller roles in DEFA films. In the middle of the decade he moved to West Germany and appeared in numerous television films, surprisingly also in 1958 in Roger Corman's science fiction film Planet of Dead Souls . Uschkurat also worked extensively as a theater actor, for example at the Münchner Kammerspiele . He became known for his participation in Shakespeare plays, directed by Fritz Kortner in Was ihr wollt or in 1958 as Rodrigo in the simultaneously filmed performance of Othello alongside Peter Pasetti .
Uschkurat has not made any known films or television appearances since 1967. Since that time he has concentrated on his synchronous work, which continues to this day. His cool, slightly nasal voice was initially heard in rather insignificant films before he became one of Klaus Kinski's regular speakers in 1966 . The internationally active German mime seldom dubbed himself. Uschkurat's first assignment for Kinski was in 1966 in the legendary For a Few Dollars More by Sergio Leone , his last in 1986 in the horror film Killerhaus . In addition to him, the speakers Fred Maire and Gerd Martienzen were very often in action as Kinski's voice.
Uschkurat has also appeared on John Lennon in How I Won the War , Donald Pleasence in In Shadow of the Triumphal Arch , John Whitehead in The Good Shepherd and, most recently, Fritz Weaver in Muhammad Ali's greatest fight . As an episode speaker, he appeared a. a. in Simon Templar , The Nanny and The Guardian - Savior with a Heart in Appearance. Uschkurat was also active as a dialogue book author and dubbing director, including A Lady Disappears by Alfred Hitchcock , Red River with John Wayne , Oscar winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , Carrie - Satan's Youngest Daughter , Holocaust and the multi-part series Die Thornvögel . In 1977 he was the translator of the German Bergman film Das Schlangenei , which was produced in English for the international market , and the same applies to the Fassbinder film Lili Marleen, made four years later .
