Florian Hansen

Florian Hansen (born May 5, 1992 , † February 18, 2013 between Hauenstein and Hinterweidenthal , Rhineland-Palatinate ) was a German American football player.

Hansen began his career at the age of twelve in Pforzheim with the Pforzheim Panthers . A little later he moved to the Stuttgart Scorpions , where he played as a defender in the American Football Bundesliga. In 2007 and 2008, Hansen and his team won the title of runner-up in Germany.

After attending secondary school in Rutesheim , he graduated from high school and began training as an officer in the Bundeswehr .

Florian Hansen was killed on the morning of February 18, 2013 in a car accident on Bundesstraße 10 between the Palatinate villages of Hauenstein and Hinterweidenthal. His vehicle hit an oncoming tractor-trailer and died at the scene of the accident.
