Florian Lutz (director)
Florian Lutz (* 1979 in Cologne ) is a German opera director.
Life
Florian Lutz is the son of the culture correspondent Frieder Reininghaus and brother of the actress Sophie Lutz .
He studied philosophy, art history and musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and completed his community service in Israel . From 2006 to 2008 Lutz received a scholarship from the “Akademie Musiktheater heute”. His first staging of an opera from classical opera literature was Orfeo ed Euridice in Gera in 2006 . In 2010 he directed Lucia di Lammermoor in Braunschweig and Carmen in Bonn , and in 2014 Tannhäuser in Lübeck .
Lutz has been the artistic director of the Halle Opera since the 2016/17 season . His contract ends with the 2020/21 season. Artistically, he was mostly given a lot of praise. The stage designer Sebastian Hannak was awarded the Faust Theater Prize under Lutz's directorship .
Florian Lutz is the father of a daughter.
