Frieder Reininghaus

Friedrich Christoph Reininghaus, married. Lutz, (born March 13, 1949 in Korntal / Baden-Württemberg ) is a German music journalist and cultural correspondent.

Life

From 1967 Frieder Reininghaus studied music, music and theater studies, German literature and sociology in Stuttgart, Tübingen and Berlin, where he was also employed as a research assistant from 1972–1973. Reininghaus was chairman of the general student committee of the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts from 1968 to 1971 .

Reininghaus has lived as a cultural correspondent and journalist in or near Cologne since 1978, reporting on European music and opera life for Deutschlandfunk , Deutschlandradio , WDR and Südwestrundfunk , various specialist magazines, Rheinischer Merkur and several daily newspapers. He wrote a large number of essays and program contributions to operas and concerts; Guest lectures at the Univerzita Komenského Bratislava . Since 1996 he has been teaching at the University of Bayreuth , since 2005 at the Theater Studies Institute of the University of Vienna and since 2016 at the University of Salzburg .

From 2010 to 2018 Reininghaus (responsible) edited the Austrian music magazine (ÖMZ) in Vienna together with Daniel Brandenburg, initially with the participation of Doris Weberberger and Lena Dražić, and later Johannes Prominczel and Judith Kemp .

On June 11, 2019, Frieder Reininghaus was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Rostock University of Music and Theater .

Reininghaus is the father of the director and artistic director Florian Lutz and the actress Sophie Lutz .
