Florian Weißkircher (born May 23, 1986 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with ATSE Graz in the National League since 2010 .

Career

Weißkircher began his career in the junior team of the Bundesliga club EC KAC and made his first appearances as a backup goalkeeper in the 2003/04 season , but he was never substituted. In summer 2005 he moved to the national league and signed a contract with the KSV ice hockey club . In his second season with the Styrians, he worked his way up to the first goalkeeper, but lost with his team in the quarter-finals to the future champions VEU Feldkirch .

In 2007 he returned to the Bundesliga when he was signed by the Vienna Capitals , but he only got too little ice age and left the team early in the 2008/09 season to play in the national league at EK Zell am See . There had been problems with regular goalkeeper Markus Seidl , who had fought with a teammate at the team's Christmas party and was then suspended. Weißkircher played the season as the first goalkeeper to end, but retired with the team in the semifinals against EC Dornbirn . In the summer of 2009 EK Zell am See went bankrupt, but was re-established under the name EK Zeller Eisbären during the bankruptcy proceedings and entered the national league again in the 2009/10 season . Weißkircher and Walter Bartholomäus formed the team's goalkeeper duo .

Weißkircher has been playing for ATSE Graz in the national league since 2010 .
