The Goroka airport is located in the province of Eastern Highlands in Papua New Guinea in the midst of about 19,000 inhabitants provincial capital Goroka .
The two asphalt runways at an altitude of 1610 m are 1646 and 1214 m long.
Air Niugini offers twice daily flights to the state capital Port Moresby, 425 km to the southeast . Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) provides many villages scattered in the jungle with transport services.
The companies Talair (1992), Goroka Air Services (1997) and Airlink (1999) each recorded one crash with a total of 30 fatalities.
