Győr-Pér Airport ( Hungarian Győr-Pér repülőtér ) is a regional airport in Hungary near Győr .

Location and transport links

The airport is located on main road 81 (Győr - Székesfehérvár ), approx. 17 km from the city center of Győr, and can also be reached from the M1 motorway.

history

After the establishment of the airport development company Győr-Pér Repülőtér Fejlesztési Kft. In 1994, the goal was to develop the airport with a grass runway into a regional or international airport. Audi Hungaria Motor Kft secured the financial means for this .

The asphalt runway and the asphalt apron were put into operation in 2003. Győr-Pér Repülőtér Kft. Started operations in the same year .

In 2013 the Audi Hungaria subsidiary, Audi Hungária Services Zrt., Became a co-owner of the airport company. This gave the airport an upswing; the runway was extended by 780 meters to 2230 meters and the airport's lighting technology was modernized. In addition, an instrument landing system (ILS) was installed in 2014 so that Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft can also land.

Airlines and Destinations

In 2014 negotiations with Wizz Air about new routes took place, but these remained without result.

As of July 2016, there are no regular passenger flights at the airport.

The car manufacturer Audi regularly flies its employees from Ingolstadt Airport in Manching to Győr with Private Wings .
