The airport Haikou Meilan ( Chinese 海口美兰国际机场 , Pinyin Hǎikǒu Meilan Guoji Jīchǎng ; English: Haikou Meilan International Airport ) is the busiest airport on the southern Chinese island of Hainan , in the district Meilan the provincial capital of Haikou in the north of the island. The HNA Group has a stake in the airport operator “Hainan Meilan International Airport Co. Ltd.”, which also includes other airports, airlines (e.g. Hainan Airlines ), tour operators and hotels.
General
The airport was designed to handle large aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and offers 24-hour operation with 17 passenger boarding bridges and 18 parking positions for aircraft. The airport has been voted the best airport in China by passengers several times for its customer-friendliness and cleanliness.
