The Hanamaki Airport ( Jap. 花巻空港 , Hanamaki Kuko ) is a regional airport in the Japanese city of Hanamaki . It is located about 6 kilometers northeast of the city center in Iwate Prefecture . Hanamaki Airport is a 3rd class airport under Japanese law . In addition to national scheduled connections to Nagoya , Osaka and Sapporo with Japan Airlines, there are irregular charter flights to Taiwan .
