The Masamba Airport ( IATA : MXB , ICAO : WAFM , Indonesian Bandar Udara Andi Jemma ) is a regional airport near the town of Masamba , the capital of the district of North Luwu Regency in the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi . The square is located about 500 meters south of Masamba city center at an altitude of 37 meters above sea level. The airport was named after the Indonesian national hero Andi Djemma , who was born in Palopo in 1901 and died in Makassar in 1965 .

The airfield can be approached by regional airliners up to the size of CASA C-212 and is classified with the ICAO Annex 14 airport reference code 2B.

The airfield has a 900 meter long and 23 meter wide asphalt runway in north-south direction and an asphalt apron (60 m × 40 m). Processing takes place in a 200 square meter terminal. A non-directional radio beacon (NDB) with the identifier MA on the frequency 244 kHz at the site serves as a navigation aid . As an approach aid, the landing direction 02 has a precision approach glide angle lighting . In a radius of ten miles around the square and up to an altitude of 10,000 feet is an air space of the class F .

The airport is connected to the airports in Bua, Makassar, Rampi and Seko by the airline Susi Air Sulawesi and to Makassar airport by the airline Aviastar Mandiri .
