The Sultan Abdul Halim Airport ( Malay : Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Halim) is an airport in northern Malaysia . It is located in the state of Kedah , around thirteen kilometers north of its capital, Alor Setar . The airport is named after the ruler of the state, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah .

The airport is used by the airlines AirAsia , Firefly and Malaysia Airlines operated direct flights to Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur-Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah to offer (as of October 2013).
