In September 2012, Fly Jamaica Airways was granted the operating license. The first flight to New York took place on February 14, 2013 . In November 2014 a Boeing 767-300ER was put into operation. Their first flight also took them to New York.

On March 31, 2019, all employees had to be laid off due to financial problems.

Incidents

  • November 9, 2018: A Boeing 757-200 of Fly Jamaica Airways (N524AT) after an emergency landing at Georgetown Airport ( Guyana ) due to problems with the hydraulics against sand obstacles at the end of the runway. Six of the 128 people on board were initially injured, and later an elderly woman died of her injuries. The aircraft had to be written off as a total loss.
