Focke fir Hinrichs

Focke Tannen Hinrichs (born September 16, 1928 in Hude ; † August 2, 2010 ) was a German historian and senior teacher .

Life

Hinrichs studied Ancient History at the University of Heidelberg a . a. with Hans Schaefer . He received his doctorate in 1958 with a thesis on the settlement laws and land orders in the last century of the Roman Republic at his alma mater and completed his habilitation in 1973 with a thesis on the history of gromatic institutions. Studies on land distribution, land surveying, land management and land law in the Roman Empire . In addition to his work in the school service, he was also active in academia and published numerous works, including research on Roman law . At the Mariengymnasium Jever he taught Latin, Greek and history for decades. He finally retired in 1991.

In his biography of Carl Schmitt , Reinhard Mehring points out that his nomos considerations could have been significantly stimulated by Hinrichs, since he sent Schmitt extensive conceptual historical explanations at the end of 1953, i.e. while still a student, and subsequently corresponded actively with the constitutional lawyer.
