The Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Foundation is a recognized non-profit foundation in the Canton of Bern in Switzerland .

It was founded on May 18, 2000 in Bern (Switzerland); The founder was Johanna Dürmüller-Bol (1920–2004), whose ancestors in the Netherlands had founded the predecessor companies of the Fortis Group . Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Young Classics Award

In addition to its sponsorship work, the Foundation, in cooperation with the Interlaken Classics music festival, awarded the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Young Classics Award from 2007 to 2016 to representatives of institutions which, in their opinion, provide outstanding achievements in promoting young musicians in the classical field. The president of the jury for the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Young Classics Award was the conductor and pianist Wladimir Dawidowitsch Aschkenasi . The prize money was CHF 20,000.

On March 18, 2016, the 10th and final Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Classic Award was presented to Alexander Sokolov, Director of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, by jury president Vladimir Ashkenazy at a festive ceremony in the Menuhin Forum in Bern.

Prix ​​Du Piano Bern

In 2016, the 10th and last Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Young Classic Award was presented and the Prix Du Piano was held, for the first time with the participation of the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Foundation. After the last award, the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Young Classic Award was integrated into the Prix de Piano. Thus the Prix de Piano became a joint event of the Interlaken Classics, the Fondation Johanna Dürmüller-Bol and the Kursaal Bern - the Prix de Piano Bern.

The Prix de Piano was awarded for the 10th time on February 26, 2017 and takes place in the run-up to the Interlaken Classics. The 1st prize (Prix Du Piano) is endowed with CHF 10,000, the 2nd prize (Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Piano Award) with CHF 7,500. In 2017 the award went to Nuron Mukumi from Uzbekistan, and the newly launched Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Piano Award went to Xiaoyu Liu from Canada. The 2018 prize winner was Adela Liculescu from Romania and the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol Piano Award to Igor Andreev from Russia. In 2019 Dmytro Choni from Ukraine won the award. Alexandra Sikorskaya from Russia received the ohanna Dürmüller-Bol Piano Award 2019.

Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award

Since 2012, the foundation has also been awarding the previously known DKF research award from the Department for BioMedical Research DBMR (University Hospital Bern), which since 2017 has been called the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award and is awarded on the day of clinical research at Inselspital Bern. The prize money is CHF 30,000.
