The Football Saddle is a wide and 700 m high mountain pass in the form of a mountain saddle on the Borchgrevink coast of East Antarctica Victoria Land . It is 3 km east-southeast of Football Mountain in a mountain ridge between Edisto Inlet and the Tucker Glacier . The pass is a suitable route for dog sledding, while lower and steeper mountain saddles east and west of the Football Mountains provide better trails for walking.
Scientists from a 1957 to 1958 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after its geographical proximity to the rock formation The Football .
