Forces Nouvelles de Côte d'Ivoire
The Forces Nouvelles de Côte d'Ivoire (German: New Forces ) short FN or FNCI were a rebel coalition of the Ivory Coast .
history
The FN formed between December 2002 and the beginning of 2003, during the civil war 2002-2007 , from the groups Patriotic Movement of Côte d'Ivoire (MPCI), Mouvement populaire ivoirien du Grand Ouest (MPIGO) and Mouvement pour la justice et la paix ( MJP) under the leadership of Guillaume Soro . They have ruled the northern half of the country since then (as of March 2011).
The FN supported the government of Alassane Ouattara during the government crisis of 2010/2011 . Under the command of Ibrahim Coulibaly , her relatives fought as a " Commando invisible " (German, 'Invisible Command') in Abobo against units of Laurent Gbagbo .
At the beginning of March 2011, the FN terminated the 2007 armistice with Laurent Gbagbo and captured the city of Toulépleu on March 7th .
On March 17, 2011, they merged into the newly established Forces républicaines de Côte d'Ivoire , which, according to Alassane Ouattara, formed the future armed forces of the Ivory Coast .
