Master list of the Lords of Pernstein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lords of Pernstein (Czech páni z Pernštejna , also Pernštejnové ) were originally a Moravian noble family, which later also gained importance in Bohemia . They came from the gentlemen "von Mödlau" / "z Medlova", who are occupied with Stephan / Štěpán von Medlov from 1208 onwards. From the end of the 13th century, his descendants used the predicate "von Pernštejna" ( z Pernštejna ) after the Pernštejn castle they built . Since their genealogy from the 13th and 14th centuries is not consistently documented or not secured, this family list begins with the Moravian governor Wilhelm I von Pernstein , who was born around 1360 and died between 1422 and 1426. With Vratislav Eusebius von Pernstein , the male line died out in 1631.
