Forest Waldemar McNeir (born August 16, 1875 in Washington, DC , † May 9, 1957 in Houston ) was an American sports marksman .
successes
Forest McNeir, who was active for the Houston Gun Club , took part in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp in a trap . He finished the team competition with the US team in first place, with 547 points the Americans had 44 points ahead of the second-placed Belgians. In addition to McNeir, the team also included Mark Arie , Horace Bonser , Frank Troeh , Frank Wright and Jay Clark .
McNeir was an extremely successful shooter nationally, despite some physical problems. In 1910, while saving the life of a firefighter, he was seriously wounded himself. In 1936 he had an accident while working as a building contractor when he fell to the ground from a height corresponding to the third floor. In the accident, his left hand was shattered - all of his wrist bones were broken - requiring major surgery.
