Forever Living Products ( FLP ) was founded in Scottsdale , Arizona in 1978 by Rex Maughan. Through network marketing and around 10 million distributors in 150 countries, the company generates an annual turnover of almost 3 billion US dollars . FLP offers cosmetics , fitness drinks, dietary supplements and body care products based on aloe vera .

Products

The most widely used product is an aloe vera-based drink that is available in four variations (natural, with orange juice concentrate, peach and cranberry ). Other products include various lotions , facial care products, dietary supplements , shampoos , deodorants , aftershave , lip balms , toothpaste , perfumes and detergents .

Distribution channel

Product sales are carried out through so-called recommendation marketing , which is also known under the term network marketing. This sales system is based exclusively on its own distributors, so that the profit margins are not reduced by middlemen, as is usual.

criticism

The network marketing operated by FLP is referred to by various sides as a pyramid scheme , mainly due to the not clearly communicated compensation system for employees. Furthermore, certain products are supposed to be sold with incorrect information. This relates in particular to the consumption recommendations, which are often denounced as unhealthy by various consumer advocates .
