Forgotten Horror is a Finnish black and death metal band from Kuopio that was founded in 2004.
history
The band was founded in January 2004 by Tuomas Karhunen. The rest of the year was spent writing songs and lyrics. The name "Forgotten Horror" was chosen in December. 2005 consisted of rehearsals, but no permanent cast has yet been found. The next year the recording of the first demo began . The band headquarters was relocated from Kuopio to Madrid . In December Lauri “Kassara” Rytkönen joined the group as a drummer. In 2007 the drum recordings were then re-recorded with Rytkönen. In July, Tommi “Corpse” Hoffren joined the band as bassist, before the demo was sold in August with a circulation of 200. It was sold out in late November. In 2008 the group's headquarters were moved back to Finland. In September 2011, Woodcut Records released their debut album The Serpent Creation , which was followed by Aeon of the Shadow Goddess in spring 2015 , which was released on Walpurgis Night . For the release of this album, a gig was held in Kuopio with Demilich .

Luxi Lahtinen from voicesfromthedarkside.de wrote about The Serpent Creation that Death Metal with a hint of Black Metal can be heard on it. The music sounds aggressive, with occasional melodic passages being interspersed, and reminds of Swedish bands such as early Dissection , Naglfar and Necrophobic . The singing makes him think of Mika Luttinen from Impaled Nazarene . In his review of Aeon of the Shadow Goddess , Calen Nesten of metal-temple.com wrote that the band calls their music "Lilithian Black Metal", with "Lilithian" referring to Lilith , Adam's first wife in many religions referred to as. The album was influenced by occultism and Tuomas Karthunen was a practicing magician . With that in mind, the album sounds like a dark ritual.
