Forrest Compton

Forrest Compton (born September 15, 1925 in Reading , Pennsylvania , † April 4, 2020 in Shelter Island , New York ) was an American actor .

Life

Forrest Compton's acting career began in the late 1950s with short appearances and supporting roles in various television series. By the end of his career, he appeared in more than 40 film and television productions. He was often engaged as a supporting and guest actor. His first permanent role as Lieutenant Colonel Edward Gray in the sitcom Gomer Pyle: USMC alongside Jim Nabors . His real breakthrough came with one of the leading roles in the soap opera The Edge of Night . He played the lawyer Mike Karr from 1970 until the program was discontinued in 1984. He last appeared as an actor in 2002 with an appearance on the series Ed - The Bowling Lawyer .

At the age of 50, Compton married Jeanne Sementini on September 28, 1975. On April 4, 2020, Compton died at the age of 94 during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States of complications from a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
